Tip #4 || Be Persistent

| November 2, 2016 |

Tip #4 || Be Persistent

--o--

For this tip, it calls for you to be persistent in your writing. You can easily have the love for writing, the creativity, and the inspiration, but if you lack the persistence, you can't go that far. You need to be persistent and make sure to never give up because if you lack that, you will lose the love for creating a story using words.

To keep being persistent, you might want to start posting your works on a website such as Wattpad to share with other people your works. They will boost up your confidence in your works and keep you writing. They'll keep you persistent. That's how it is with me. By sharing my stories with others, I am motivated to keep writing and I remain persistent.

Another way to remain persistent is to have a love for the story you're working on. Even if it seems like your story isn't going anywhere, if you truly want it to be something one day, you'll continue writing it until the end. I can speak from experience.

Once upon a time I was working on a novel of mine. Halfway through I gave up because I felt like there was nothing going for it. However, I realized that I couldn't leave the story unfinished. It was the best work of mine at the time and I wanted it to become something. So I picked it back up and now it's all completed and in the process of being rewritten for a better version.

In the end, you want to write and keep writing even when you feel like you want to stop. You might lose that spark but always be persistent because you never know what your story will become in the future.

Tip #3 || Be Inspired

Tip #3 || Be Inspired

--o--

Today's tip is titled Be Inspired. When you write, you always want to be inspired because even if you have great creativity ideas, how can you possibly write it all down without at least some inspiration to push you to finish writing?

As writers, sometimes we tend to lose inspiration at some point in our lives and we kind of want to give up working on our assignment. I personally experienced this but I brought my inspiration up by reading other books, looking at random objects around me, or just stumbling upon random words. Sometimes, positive words from those around me inspire me as well. These are some of my inspirations that whip me back into writing.

Every writer is different thus every writer has something different inspiring them. Sure, sometimes they may not seem to work, but you can't give up because once you do, it's over. You won't want to get up anymore.

In the end, to be a proper writer, no matter what happens, always look for inspiration. It's important to always be inspired because that will help you on your journey of being a writer.

Tip #2 || Be Creative

| October 19, 2016 |

Tip #2 || Be Creative

--o--

As this tip name implies, to be a good writer you first want to be a bit creative. If you aren't creative in your writing and copy other people's works or ideas, it won't get you very far because people will notice and you might get in trouble for plagiarizing. You want to think of something new and fresh- something that hasn't quite been read or seen around. Even autobiographies, biographies, and poems that state facts are creative in their own ways.

The first step of being creative is to have an imaginative or open mind to things around you. If you have an open and imaginative mind, you'll be able to imagine things you normally wouldn't and that will help you in your writing career. Even if you think your idea sounds childish and immature, write it down so you don't forget it. You never know how that story idea will turn out. Plus, being creative shows how different each person is and how their uniqueness is portrayed ;)

I personally am working on a book that might sound childish to people who hear what it is about but when I write down the plot lines and all those things, it doesn't sound as childish as it seemed (not to sound conceited or anything if that's what it sounds like). This is just an example that even if your idea sounds childish, you shouldn't forget about it because one day, it just might become a best seller!

In the end, to be a great writer, you first want to be creative and entertain the idea you have because one day it just might be your breakthrough.

Tip #1 || The Love to Write

| October 12, 2016 |

Tip #1 || The Love to Write

--o--

To start off with your writing career, you first want to love to write. This is the beginning. If you don't enjoy writing, you'll find it difficult to continue. You want to find pleasure in creating something from just words. You want to write as a hobby and not as a requirement.

If you can't enjoy writing then that means it's not for you. But if you don't enjoy it and you want to write, then you'll just have to practice and work hard to start liking it. It might not be easy but it's worth a try.

This first tip is just to inform you that the beginning of writing is to have the love of creating stories from your imagination. Have that love and passion and you can move onto the next step.

NEW PURPOSE

New Purpose

--o--

When I first began this blog, I didn't know what I wanted it to consist of so I mainly wrote whatever I felt like writing. But lately, I've decided to finally make this blog one with a purpose. That purpose is offering tips and tricks to being a decent writer to those who are starting off in the writing part of life.

I am active on the website called 'Wattpad', which is a place for young readers and writers who wish to share their works to the world. Millions of people all over the world have accounts and it is a place where you gain feedback on your works that help you improve.

Being on Wattpad and being asked for my opinions on people's stories have made me realized that every writer struggles with a section in writing, be it description, grammar, sentence flow, etc. And most writers want critics who will be honest and fair with their critiquing. Sadly, not much people offer that and instead, brush it off saying the work of the writer is fabulous as it is. And whereas it may seem fabulous to others, if there is a section lacking the proper form throughout the story, I think the writer deserves to know so that they may improve on that part.

This brings me to my purpose for settling down on one theme for this blog now. I want to be the type of person who will read young writers' works, critique to the best of my ability, and offer any wisdom that I personally gained through my writing experience. Therefore, from now on, I will try to add one tip a week here for young writers to read and hopefully learn and practice and improve.

I hope you (young writers out there or those who are interested in writing but are not sure how to) find this blog's purpose helpful on your journey of being a writer.
