Tip #2 || Be Creative

--o--

As this tip name implies, to be a good writer you first want to be a bit creative. If you aren't creative in your writing and copy other people's works or ideas, it won't get you very far because people will notice and you might get in trouble for plagiarizing. You want to think of something new and fresh- something that hasn't quite been read or seen around. Even autobiographies, biographies, and poems that state facts are creative in their own ways.

The first step of being creative is to have an imaginative or open mind to things around you. If you have an open and imaginative mind, you'll be able to imagine things you normally wouldn't and that will help you in your writing career. Even if you think your idea sounds childish and immature, write it down so you don't forget it. You never know how that story idea will turn out. Plus, being creative shows how different each person is and how their uniqueness is portrayed ;)

I personally am working on a book that might sound childish to people who hear what it is about but when I write down the plot lines and all those things, it doesn't sound as childish as it seemed (not to sound conceited or anything if that's what it sounds like). This is just an example that even if your idea sounds childish, you shouldn't forget about it because one day, it just might become a best seller!

In the end, to be a great writer, you first want to be creative and entertain the idea you have because one day it just might be your breakthrough.
